Pilani Photowalk unplugged. June 15th.

ODOP is glad to announce its recent segment of Photo-Walk & Photo-Story (Pilani). In this segment, members in and around the place selected are invited to explore their talent and  more importantly a chance to know each other and learn.

As one of our admin (Rupsha Bhunia) luckily stays there, it was decided that let this event take place here. Few of our ODOPieas, who resided nearby, were invited to explore and unfold the mystic land of PILANI.

Pilani, as many of us must have heard about, is famous for the world renowned university BITS-Pilani and is situated in Rajasthan, Shekhawati region.
Pilani has some worth watching visiting places like BITS-Pilani campus which includes Birla Museum, Shiv-Ganga Canal, Panchwati Udhyan,,Pahadi Mandir & garden. Some frescos painted old havelis are also situated in market areas of Pilani.  CEERI is also in Pilani.

Apart from this, those who are really interested in photography and also in historical as well as natural beauty, they can plan for a short trip of a few days to visit the in and around areas.

NAWAGARH is famous for its hawelis and is often know as golden city of Rajasthan and is also the home of a few great business families of India. It is 66km from Pilani.
Those who love adventures they can visit Sariska Tiger Reserve ( area of 800 sq. km) . Legend has it that this was the ancient Matsya kingdom, where exiled Pandavas stayed. The sight of the huge gaping orifice with a picturesque spring emerging from the rocks is an awe-inspiring sight.
Another sanctuary named Tal Chhapar, is also worth mentioning, known for black bucks (the most elegant Antelope) and is also home to a variety of birds.

The event experience as shared by Dipanjan Bose(one of the members present there) is as follows:

The Walk To Remember.

Always we need a break from 24X7 work pressure, meetings, deliverables, meeting deadlines. And also we need a creative space for mental busting in these busy time-frames of life.

So, ODOP being the most caring and loving photography group arranged a Photo-Walk on 15th June, 2013 at Pilani, Rajasthan. When I came to know about this I was too excited because of couple of reason. One is surely photography and another is exploring the new and the beautiful place.

Our team was cosy and small, we met near Pilani BITS Campus Gate. From there we started our long awaited Photo-Walk. We went to the Birla Mandir, almost during the magic hour which is best for photography and spent few precious minutes there.

Golden lights reflecting from Mandir's(temple) wall, it was mesmerizing! We clicked like no one's watching!

Next we went to a village Mandir(temple), which is situated at the top of the hill. We climbed to the top to witness its delicate beauty. When it was about time to return back home, darkness had already set its wings all over the area which made Pilani look even more beautiful!

This was really a nice expedition, all of our hearts whispered "Photo-walk is a blessing for the busy soul"!

Thanks to every one of the team ODOP of Pilani's Photo-walk, and special thanks to participants Dipendu Bhunia, Rupsha Bhunia, Satabdi Banik and (off-course me) Dipanjan Bose.

A Special thanks goes to Dipendu and Rupsha Bhunia for hosting and arranging the entire thing. Without you guys this Photo walk wouldn't have been this good!
